Indian bowlers performed extremely well and restricted England to 287 runs in the first inning. Off-spinner R. Ashwin bagged four wickets and pacer Shami also took 3 wickets. Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav picked up 1 wicket each.

The first match of five test match series between India and England is going on in Birmingham. From the very first day of the match, Indian bowlers played brilliantly and took the wickets in regular interval.

On the first day of the test, England won the toss and opted bat, Johny Bairstow (70 ) gave a good start to England and then Joe Root (80 ) played a must needed inning. But soon after the dismissal of Joe Root by the direct throw of Virat Kohli, English team collapsed eventually.

At the end of the first day, England was on the score of 285/9 with Sam Curran and James Anderson on the pitch. Next day, the English team have added just to run in the total score and got all out at the low score of 287. Indian pacer Mohammad Sami dismissed Sam Curran at 24.

Indian opener Murli Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan have started Indian batting, both batsmen contributed 6-6 runs and the total score of India is 15/0, so far.
