Basic Exchange and Cooperation Agreement or BECA will be signed between India and the United States today during 2+2 dialogue. The Defence Ministry in a statement on Monday has said "Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and US Defence Secretary Mark Esper confirmed the agreement of BECA will be signed during the visit". BECA is the last of the four foundational agreements agreed upon between American and Indian armed forces.

India and US have already signed Communications Compatibility and Security Agreement (COMCASA) in 2018, Logistics Exchange Memorandum of Agreement (LEMOA) in 2016, General Security Of Military Information Agreement (GSOMIA) in 2002. The fourth BECA will allow for expanded geospatial information sharing between American and Indian armed forces. Upon arrival, Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and US Defence Secretary Mark Esper held a one-hour long bilateral meeting in New Delhi, during which they discussed a number of issues in relation to India and US including expanding joint service cooperation.
