Team Indian won the third and final Odi match against Australia to clinch the series by 2-1. Indian former captain Dhoni played an outstanding inning of 87 runs and Kedar Jadhav who scored 61 runs supported him in beating Australia by 7 wickets for maiden ODI bilateral series win in Australia. Yuzvendra Chahal recorded outstanding figures of 6/42 in his 10 overs. 

Kedar Jadhav gave India a historic victory by hitting the second ball of the 50th over. India achieved the target of 231 by losing just three wickets in 49.2 overs. Dhoni scored an unbeaten 87 off 114 balls with the help of six fours. This is his third consecutive half century in this series and 70th ODI half-century Apart from this, Kedar Jadhav played with the played a fine knock of 61 not out with the  help of seven fours in 57 balls, They made an unbroken partnership of 121 runs in 19.2 overs.

Finally , India has made a name for the series 2-1 in the Melbourne ODI with seven wickets. Indian team won the  ODI series for the first time on the Australian soil. Apart from this, Virat's team is the first team that has not lost the T20, Test and ODI series on this tour.
