New Delhi: Team India defeated England by a huge margin of 10 wickets in the third Test. With this, Team India has strengthened its claim to reach the final of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC). India has now reached the top of the WTC table. India will have to draw at least the next match to reach the final. At the same time, England's hopes of reaching the WTC finals have ended.

With this defeat, the England team reached the fourth position in the WTC table. Even if the English team wins the next match, Australia will still reach the final. This is because England's points will be less than Australia's. New Zealand has already made its place in the finals. Before the series began, England needed a 4–0, 3–0, or 3–1 win to reach the finals, but now all three options are over.

At the same time, Team India needed to win 2–1 to reach the final of WTC. If India wins the next match, then they will reach the final with an even better position. For the first time, the ICC is holding the World Test Championship. The final is to be played at Lord's Cricket Ground from 18 June.
