India has expressed its appreciation for the outcome of the recent presidential election in the United States, emphasizing the importance of the people's mandate and the desire to further deepen bilateral relations. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, made the statement during a media briefing on Thursday, a day after Donald Trump's victory marked a significant political comeback for the US President.

"We celebrate the expression of the people's mandate in the US and are committed to further strengthening our partnership," Jaiswal said.

In a phone conversation on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President-elect Donald Trump reaffirmed their dedication to enhancing cooperation across various sectors. The MEA shared that Modi congratulated Trump on his "spectacular and resounding victory," noting that it reflected the American people's deep trust in his leadership and vision.
