New Delhi: Tensions between India and China over the border may have increased for some time now, but the two countries appeared to be standing together on one issue. In fact, India and China managed to make a major change in the proposal at the recently concluded United Nations (UN) climate talks in Glasgow, Scotland. In fact, 200 countries have held several levels of talks to reduce global warming and make their respective countries pollution-free.

During the COP26 Summit, India and China led developing countries to strongly oppose a proposal to completely eliminate coal use and remove fossil fuel subsidies. It is only then that the conference approves a climate agreement with the goals of reducing coal use, not eliminating it. India's proposal has been approved shortly before the end of the conference. At the same time, the word 'phase down' associated with coal caught the attention of the whole world.

In fact, the draft presented at the conference had to allow all countries to phase out (completely stop the use of coal) for coal use, but at the last minute India and China phased it down as per their requirement. After opposition from India and China, it was agreed that some countries would gradually "reduce" coal use by not completely "eliminating" it, which angered many countries.
