India has taken a significant step and proposed a bilateral 'Marine Summit' with China. Its purpose is to find a common basis in the Hind-Pacific region, where rapid security scenarios are emerging. Sources said that sea negotiations with China could happen in the next one-two weeks.

According to sources, initiatives of maritime negotiations are being taken under a comprehensive vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Hind-Pacific. The Prime Minister mentioned it in Singapore in his speech last month in the Shangri-La Summit.

This step matters a lot because India is part of the powerful quadrilateral (India, America, Australia and China) coalition, which was shaped in November last year. Its aim is to make free the most important sea routes in the Hind-Pacific. India has proposed similar maritime summit with Russia. One source said, "Our effort is to work with big powers to create harmony in the region." Significantly, India has recently maritime summit with Indonesia and France.

After the discussion between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping in Budha, a delegation of China's army to improve military relations between the two countries is on a tour of India. The Chinese military delegation will also visit the Eastern Command. It will continue for Chinese military officials from 2 July to 6 July. In order to determine the condition and direction of future relations between India and China.
