New Delhi: Over 1.79 lakh new COVID-19 cases have been reported in India, bringing the total number of Omicron cases to 4,033. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Monday, India reported 1,79,723 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the country's daily positive rate to 13.29 percent.
So far, 4,033 cases of the Omicron coronavirus variant have been recorded. The state with the most cases is Maharashtra (1,216), followed by Rajasthan (529) and Delhi (513). A total of 1,552 patients who were infected with the new strain have made a full recovery.
The Ministry of Justice also stated that the country's active caseload is currently at 7,23,619, accounting for 2.03 percent of the total number of cases. The weekly positivity rate is currently 7.29 percent, with a daily positivity rate of 13.29 percent. COVID-19 cases have increased to 35,528,004 in the country.
In the previous 24 hours, 46,569 people have recovered from the sickness. The total number of COVID-free patients now stands at 3,45,00,172. The percentage of recovery is 96.62 percent. In the previous 24 hours, the government has reported 146 more deaths, bringing the total death toll to 4,83,936.
