New Delhi: The new cases of coronavirus continue to decline and it slows down the pace of infection in India amid growing concerns in the world, due to which the active cases are rapidly decreasing and their number has come down to 3 lakh. The rate of slowing of the epidemic can be estimated from the fact that every day new cases of infection have come down to less than 20,000 after several months and the number of deaths due to this has remained below 500.

According to the data released on Tuesday by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 19,556 new cases were registered in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of infected to more than one crore 75 thousand. During this period, due to the recovery of 30,376 patients, the number of people who were infected was 96.36 lakh and the recovery rate increased to 95.65%. Active cases have come down by 11,121 to 2.92 lakhs and its rate has been reduced to 2.90%. With the death of 301 patients in the same period, the death toll has risen to 1,46,111 and the death rate is still 1.45%.

During the last 24 hours, active cases of corona have been reduced in all states and union territories except Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam. Odisha saw the highest increase in 51 active cases of corona during this period while 309 patients were recovered. The number of active cases has increased to 2801, while about 3.22 lakh people have got rid of this infection. The number of dead has increased to 1839 with the death of three people in the last 24 hours.
