New Delhi: The number of corona cases in India is growing rapidly, but corona patients are recovering 20% faster. The active corona cases in the country have now come down to less than 7 lakh. So far, 100 million people have underdone corona tests. The total positivity rate of coronavirus is 7.81% and the daily positive rate is 3.8%. The positive rate of many States/UTs is higher than the national average.

According to the latest health ministry data, 54,366 new corona cases have been reported in the past 24 hours and 690 corona infected have died. 73,979 patients have also been recovered on the previous day. The total number of corona infected in the country has reached 77 lakh 61 thousand. Out of these, one lakh 17 thousand 306 patients have lost their lives. The number of recovery cases has gone up to 69 lakh 49 thousand and the number of active cases has come down to 6 lakh 95 thousand.

The number of people recovered is 9 times higher than the number of active cases of infection. Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu have the highest percentage of active coronavirus cases, mortality and recovery rates. According to ICMR, a total of 100 million samples of coronavirus have been tested till October 22, out of which 14 lakh samples were tested yesterday.
