Corona slows pace in country, 20,000 new cases found in last 24 hours

New Delhi: The havoc of coronavirus infection is still going on in the country. Thousands of new cases are coming out every day. Although less than 25 thousand cases were reported today for the eighth consecutive day and less than 30 thousand cases were reported on the 17th day. In the last 24 hours, 20,021 newly infected patients have arrived. At the same time, 279 people lost the battle of life from the corona. The good thing is that 21,131 patients have also recovered from corona on the previous day.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health, the total corona cases in India have increased to 12 million. Out of these, one lakh 47 thousand 901 people have lost their lives so far. Total active cases came down to 2 lakh 77 thousand. So far, a total of 97 lakh 82 thousand people have become healthy by beating corona. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 16.88 million corona samples were tested for coronavirus by 27 December, of which 7 lakh samples were tested yesterday.

According to the latest data, the positivity rate in the country is 7 per cent. There are less than 20,000 active cases of coronavirus in 33 states and union territories. Kerala and Maharashtra account for 40 per cent of the total active cases of coronavirus.
