India crushed Malaysia to enter women's Asian Champions Trophy final

DONGHAE CITY: Defending champions India on Thursday beat Malaysia 3-2, to mark their third consecutive win into the summit clash of the women's Asian Champions Trophy .

Earlier India, who crushed Japan 4-1 and China 3-1 in their previous outings, qualified for the final with a match in hand in their kitty.

Indian eve team who sitting atop in the table with nine points will next take on hosts Korea in their final pool match on Saturday before Sunday's final.

Gurjit Kaur (17'), Vandana Katariya (33') and Lalremsiami (40') crowned the board for India while Nuraini Rashid (36') and Hanis Onn (48') sounded for Malaysia.

The first quarter witnessed both teams’ trade penalty corners with India opening the account in the very first minute of the match which threw Malaysia on a back-foot.

Soon after, India passed a penalty stroke when defender Deep Grace caused an encroachment while attempting to prevent Malaysian attacker from taking a shot on goal while Nuraini broke no sweat in converting the penalty stroke.

The following minutes noticed India win as many as three PCs .Meanwhile, a brilliant long pass by captain Sunita Lakra to the striking circle was drawn away into the goal by young forward Lalremsiami from the top of the circle, presenting a perfect one-touch hockey.

This remarkable goal took India's lead to 3-1 in the 40th minute.
