Apart from former world number one Srikanth, Lakshya Sen and Shubhankar Dey have easily won in their singles matches. Srikanth defeated Dimitri Panarin 21-10 21-7 in 23 minutes. Sen defeated Arthur Niyazov 21-13, 21-8 in 21 minutes. Dey defeated Khaitmurat Kulmatov 21–11, 21–5. World Championship bronze medalists B Sai Praneeth and Chirag Shetty lost 21-18, 16-21, 19-21 to Kazakhstan's Niyazov and Panarin in the doubles category.
