New Delhi: The Indian Army has significantly increased its firing power by deploying a variety of rockets and cannons on the border with China. Along with this, they plan to buy a large number of additional military equipment including another 100, K-9 Vajra howitzers and unmanned vehicles (UAVs). Earlier, the Indian Army has already deployed artillery units, K-9 Vajra 'tracked self-propelled howitzers', ultra-light M-777 howitzers, Pinaka rocket systems and Dhanush gun systems in the area.  

Defence establishment sources have informed that the Army plans to equip its artillery units along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with unmanned vehicles with a range of 90 km. A source said, "We are looking at buying an unmanned vehicle with a range of 15-20 km and monitoring within a radius of 80 km for four hours."

Sources have told that the Indian Army is going to buy a new consignment of 100 more K-9 Vajra howitzers. This will be different from the order placed for 100 such guns in 2017. The source has said that 'The Defense Procurement Council has given green signal to the proposal to order 100 more K-9 Vajra. The request proposal will be issued soon.'
