"India getting G20 Presidency is a huge opportunity": PM Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Wednesday that receiving the G20 Presidency for India is a big opportunity before the opening of the Winter Session of the Parliament.

Before the first day of the Winter Session of Parliament began, Prime Minister Modi addressed the media "The first day of the winter session has reached. We met before August 15th, making this session crucial. On August 15, the culmination of 75 years of independence, we moved forward with Azadi ka Amrit Kaal. India has been given the chance to lead the G20 at the time of our meeting."

"At a time like this, India receiving the G20 Presidency is a huge opportunity," Prime Minister Modi said. "The manner in which India has made a space in the global community, the manner in which expectations with India have risen and the manner in which India is increasing its participation on global platform."

"In addition to being a diplomatic event, the G20 Summit offers India the opportunity to demonstrate its capabilities to the rest of the globe. With such a sizable nation, the mother of democracy, such diversity, and such potential, India has the chance to introduce itself to the world and demonstrate its potential, " he said.

An intergovernmental meeting of the world's leading developed and emerging economies is known as the G20 or Group of 20. On December 1, India formally took over as G20 President.

At the Bali summit last month, Indonesia transferred the G20 chairmanship to India in the presence of Prime Minister Modi.

Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union make up this group.

On Wednesday, the Parliament's winter session will get underway. There will be a total of 17 working days in the session.

The winter session of Parliament will have 16 new measures on the agenda of the BJP-led Central government.
