India, Global Covid Overview: India recovery rate stands at 98.21-pc

New Delhi: In the past 24 hours, India recorded 10,423 new cases of the novel coronavirus, the lowest number in 259 days, as well as 443 deaths from the infection. According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Tuesday, the country saw a total of 15,021 recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recovery rate to around 98.20 percent and the total number of recoveries to 3,36,83,581. Active cases make up less than 1 percent of total cases, and they are currently at 0.45 percent, the lowest level since March 2020.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in India fell to 1,53,776, the lowest level in 250 days, according to data from the health ministry. The first death from the COVID pandemic was reported in India in March 2020. The death toll has now reached 4,58,880 people.
