Brussels: The impact of India's growing influence in the international world is beginning to be seen in the European Parliament. Voting on the joint resolution relating to five different resolutions tabled in the European Parliament (EP) against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) has been postponed till March due to heavy opposition from India and pressure from its friends. At the same time it is also being said that after the debate on the first proposal on Wednesday, voting was to be held on Thursday. Pakistan had tried to vote on the proposal with the help of some of its European allies, but it has had to face it here too.

Shafaq Mohammed tried to get the anti-India resolution passed: On the other hand, sources in the Indian government said that India's friends in the European Parliament prevailed over the friends of Pakistan. It is also being said that the European Parliament approved the decision of Britain's separation from the European Union on Wednesday itself. At the same time, while going from the European Parliament, member of Britain and friend of Pakistan, Shafaq Mohammad tried his best to get the anti-India resolution passed. Sources said that India hopes that fair members of the European Parliament will understand its stand.

Voting on the motion was deferred until March: The statement issued by the European Parliament stated, 'On the proposal presented to the CAA after the decision taken by the members of the European Parliament (MEP) when today's session starts in Brussels. Voting has been postponed till March. However, nothing has been said about the reasons for postponing the voting.
