New Delhi: India reported 1,27,952 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, bringing the overall number of cases to 4,20,80,664, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The country has reported 1,059 more deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths caused by the coronavirus to 5,01,114. India's active caseload now stands at 13,31,648, accounting for 3.16 percent of the country's total positive cases.

The national COVID-19 recovery rate was 95.64 percent, with a positive rate of 7.98 percent, according to the health ministry. The weekly optimism rating fell to 11.21 percent as well.

In the last 24 hours, there have been 2,30,814 recoveries, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 4,02,47,902. a total of 16,03,856 tests were performed. According to the government, over 73.79 crore tests have been performed across the country so far.

According to provisional data, India's cumulative vaccination tally was at 1,68,98,17,199 as of 7 a.m. today, with 47,53,081 vaccine doses administered in the last 24 hours.
