India reports 196 Covid-19 cases in past 24 hours

NEW DELHI: India reported 196 news Covid cases in the last 24-hours against the last day's 227 count, read the Health Ministry data updated on Monday.

Meantime, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya is set hold a meeting via video conferencing with the Indian Medical Association today evening on Covid-19 situation and preparedness.

As per data, the active caseload stands at 3,428, accounting for 0.01 percent of the total positive cases. The weekly positive rate currently stands at 0.16 percent, while the daily positive rate stands at 0.56 percent.

The recovery of 190 patients in the last 24 hours took the total tally to 4,41,43,179. With this, the recovery rate stands at 98.80 percent. 

Also in the corresponding time frame, a total of 35,173 tests were conducted across the country, increasing the overall tally to over 90.99 crore. With 29,818 vaccine shots given in the last 24 hours, the Covid-19 vaccination coverage surpassed 220.05 crores as of this morning, the data showed.
