India on Thursday announced a 39-member squad for the ISSF World Cup Junior Rifle, Pistol, and Shotgun Shooting Competition to be held in Suhl, Germany, from June 1 to 6. The Junior World Cup will be followed by the Junior World Championships in Changwon, Korea, in July.
The team announced by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has several shooters who have been representing the country at the junior level for some time now. These include Simranjit Kaur Brar, Rajkanwar Singh Sandhu, and Sameer in the pistol category; Abhinav Sau and Dhanush Srikanth in the rifle category; and Shardul Vihan and Preeti Rajak in the shotgun category.
Budding shooters like Gautami Bhanot and Swati Chowdhary (rifle), Abhinav Chowdhary and Shubham Bisla (pistol), and Sabira Harris and Harmer Singh Lally (shotgun) have also found a place in the team. Mixed Team Two mixed team pairs have been announced for the air rifle, air pistol, and trap events.
