India so far administered over 107.92-mn doses of COVID-19 vaccine: Report

New Delhi: As of Saturday, India had administered over 107.92 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses as part of its nationwide vaccination drive, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. So far, 1,07,92,19,546 vaccine doses have been administered in the country, according to the ministry.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, India has reported 10,929 new COVID-19 cases. The active caseload in the country has dropped to 1,46,950, the lowest level in 255 days. Active cases make up less than 1 percent of total cases, with 0.43 percent being the lowest since March 2020. With 12,509 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the country's total recoveries have risen to 3,37,37,468. The current recovery rate is 98.23 percent, which is the highest since March 2020.

The daily positivity rate is 1.35 percent, which is less than 2 percent for the previous 33 days, and the weekly positivity rate is 1.27 percent, which is less than 2 percent for the previous 43 days. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 8,10,783 samples were tested in the last 24 hours for the presence of the virus, bringing the total number of tests conducted in the country to 61,39,65,751.
