India took 85 days to touch 10 cr vaccinations: Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya

Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan on Thursday, September 9,  said that 68 percent of the total COVID-19 cases in India last week were from Kerala. In addition,  Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said India took 85 days to touch 10 crore vaccinations, 45 days to cross the 20 crore mark and 29 more days to reach 30 crore.

India's daily cases of coronavirus jumped by over 14 percent as the country reported 43,263 new cases on Thursday. 338 deaths were recorded during the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry. Active cases constitute 1.19 percent of total cases. Active cases constitute 1.19 percent of total cases, while the national COVID recovery rate stands 97.48 percent, the Health Ministry said. The daily positivity rate now stands at 2.38 percent. The cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has crossed 71 crore. More than 73 lakh vaccine doses were administered till 7 pm on Wednesday.

Meanwhile Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan today said that 68 percent of the total COVID-19 cases in India last week were from Kerala and of the 43,263 COVID-19 cases reported in the last 24 hours, over 32,000 cases are from Kerala.
