India have named their 12-member team for the first test of the series in opposition to Australia. The  series will start on Thursday in Adelaide. KL Rahul and Murali Vijay will open the innings . Cheteshwar Pujara will be playing at number 3. Skipper Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant are sure in the middle order . Hanuma Vihari and Rohit Sharma is likely to be drafted in the playing XI. Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin is the only spin bowler in the team .the announcement was held  on the eve of the Day 1 of the first Test. Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami are the three pacers who have been named for the crucial match.

Amazingly, both Rohit and Vihari were named in the 12-member team.

But only one of these two players is likely to play. Vihari has more chances over Rohit as he can also help R Ashwin with his spin bowling. Men in Blue  have not named Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav in the team, therefore, they will need someone to associate Ashwin at some point.

Here is the team –

Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, KL Rahul, Murali Vijay, Cheteshwar Pujara, Rohit Sharma, Hanuma Vihari, Rishabh Pant, Ravi Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah.
