Sydney: Australia, on the third day of the third Test match being played at the Sydney Cricket Ground, on the basis of the best performance of their bowlers, on Saturday, Team India's first innings was reduced to 244 runs. Team India started playing on 96 for 2 on Saturday. Team India faced a total of 100.4 overs.

Cheteshwar Pujara scored 50 runs for India and Rishabh Pant played a useful innings of 36 runs. Ravindra Jadeja returned unbeaten on 28 runs. India lost the wickets of captain Ajinkya Rahane (22) and Hanuma Vihari (4) in the first session of the day. In the second season, India lost all remaining wickets along with Pant and Pujara. Earlier, Team India had bowled Australia's first innings for 338 runs, but now it is 94 runs behind in the first innings.

Pat Cummins took four wickets for Australia while Josh Hazlewood took two wickets. Mitchell Starc also made a breakthrough. Three of India's batsmen were run out. This is the seventh time when 3 batsmen of Team India have been run out in any one innings.
