New Delhi: The fifth Test between Team India and England has begun at Edgbaston in Birmingham today. In this match, England captain Ben Stokes won the toss and handed over the batting to India. The Indian innings have begun. Cheteshwar Pujara and Shubman Gill have opened the innings and India has also lost their first wicket in form of Shubhman Gill (17) just after the start of the inning. Till the writing of the report, Team India made 31 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in 10 overs. For England, James Anderson bowled the first over, in which 4 runs came.

The five-Test series was played last year, with Team India leading 2-1. Due to Corona, the fifth test was cancelled, which is now happening. Indian captain Rohit Sharma is not playing this Test match due to being found to be corona infected. Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been given the command of the team in place of Rohit. Bumrah is captaining the Test team for the first time. On the other hand, the England team is coming home by defeating New Zealand in the Test series.

England Squad: Alex Lees, Jack Crawley, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes (captain), Sam Billings (wicketkeeper), Matthew Potts, Stuart Broad, Jack Leach and James Anderson.
