India vs England test series: Day 1 washes out due to incessant rain

The opening day of the second test match between India and England is washed out due to relentless drizzle. No ball being bowled on Day 1 at Lord’s on Thursday.

Both the team were ready to face each other for the second test but due to incessant rain, they have to wait for the second day. The match was scheduled at 15:30 IST was delayed due to rain showers and cricketers and fans were hoping rain to stop but ultimately it washed whole day.

It happens very rarely in England that rain washes away the whole day. It has not been almost five years when the rain washed the whole fourth day of fifth Ashes clash at Oval.

The host team is currently leading the series by 1-0 and it is looking forward to winning this match in order to make the firm grip at the test. English team made the changes in its playing XI for the second test match. Ollie Pope is making his test debut through this test by replacing Dawid Malan. Ben Stokes is also not available for the second test. He can be replaced by all-rounder Chris Woakes and off-spinner Moeen Ali. Indian team can also give chance to batsman Cheteshwar Pujara and spinner Kuldeep Yadav.
