Indian bowler played a very impressive game at the first day of the first test match at Birmingham on Wednesday. India restricted England to a low score of 285/9. Only Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow managed to score a fifty and with this  Joe root became the quickest batsman to score 6000 test runs. Spinner R. Off-spinner Ashwin was proved lethal from the English batsmen as he took 4 wickets by giving 60 runs. Mohammad Shami Picked up 2 wickets while Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav bagged 1 wicket each.

England won the toss and elected to bat, Johny Bairstow (70 runs) gave a good start to England and then Joe Root (80 runs) also supported England very well. After the dismissal of Joe Root by the direct throw of Virat Kohli, English team lost its momentum and eventually collapsed thereafter.

Indian bowler restricted English batsman to create a partnership by taking regular wickets. Off-spinner Ashwin dismissed Alastair Cook (13), Ben stroke (21), Jos Buttler (0) and Stuart Broad (1). Mohammad Shami stuck two wickets of Keaton Jennings (42) and Dawid Malan (8). Indian pacer Ishant Sharma dismissed Adil Rashid (13) and Umesh Yadav dismissed Jonny Bairstow (70).

Virat Kohli & Co. looks forward to Test series win against England

Indian batsmen would put will put efforts to make a huge score on the second day of the match. It would be the responsibility of top-order batsmen to score high to dominate the game.
