New Delhi: By 2050, the Indian economy will overtake Japan to become the third-largest economy in the world. India will be the first in the US and China in second place. A study by the Medical Journal of Lancent has provided information in this regard. This journal studies the populations working in countries all over the world.

India was the seventh-largest economy in the world in 2017. Considering this as the basis, the study said that India will become the fourth-largest economy by 2030. In 2030 only the US, China, and Japan will be ahead of India. India is currently the fifth-largest economy in the world. France and Britain are ranked third and fourth. The central government's estimate is similar. Niti Aayog Chairman Rajiv Kumar said in May this year that India will become the third-largest economy in the world by 2047. However, in view of the corona pandemic and its impact on the economy, the current estimates seem to be less optimistic.

In December last year, japan's Centre for Economic Research said in a study that India will overtake Japan by 2029 to become the third-largest economy in the world. Japan had expressed this estimate before the corona epidemic. The current epidemic is expected to delay India's $5 trillion economy by 2025.
