Good news came from Jakarta as Indian won the first medal in this tournament. India wins the first medal as shooters Apurvi Chandela and Ravi Kumar bagged bronze in 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event. The first gold of the tournament went in the bag of China

Apurvi Chandela and Ravi Kumar are the brilliant player shutters of India. They have also performed well in the commonwealth games and won the bronze medal in 1 meter Air Rifle individually.

The major upset, two-time Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of Bahrain's Adam Batirov in the 74kg category. Although Sushil is not out of the competition and still have change to bag a medal. if Batirov makes the final, he will be in with a chance to win bronze through the repechage.

Although India won its first bronze medal but also suffered a major upset when Manu Baker and Abhishek Verma failed to qualify for the final of the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event. Apart from this, Shreyasi Manavjit Singh Sandhu tops Men’s Trap Qualification Day 1 with a score of 72. Lakshay also finished 5th position with score of 71. Shreyasi Singh finished 2nd with 71 points in Womeb’s Trap Qualification. Seema Tomar finished at 4th position with the score if 71.
