The major threat to space has come from the growing internet of things in India. A report on Friday revealed that cyberattack cases in IoT space have risen by 22 per cent in India in the past three months. With this, India has become the worst cyberattack victim in the last quarter. This is the second consecutive quarter when India has topped the country in cyber attacks. The 'State of Internet of Things (IoT) Security report detailed this. Data was collected from 15 Indian cities, with Mumbai, New Delhi and Bengaluru reporting the highest number of cyber attacks. The study was conducted by Bengaluru telecom solution provider Subex. In the past three months, 33,450 high-grade attacks were registered, including 500 large ones.

In his statement, Subex CEO P Vinod Kumar said, "The points raised by Thrott intelligence have shown that the hacks are taking more interest in Indian projects and targeting them. It's a matter of concern," research has shown, with hackers targeting critical infrastructure projects with the help of malware, and the number of such attacks is also on the rise. The study found more than 2,550 unique malware samples across the country.

For your information, Internet of Things (IoT) projects are targeted at the Proof of Concept stage and the samples that appear have proofs to understand network traffic and to continue. The study says that rapidly-growing, geographical and politically motivated cyberattacks have become a trend. They are intended to harm and prove their strength to such projects in any country. Sometimes a hackman attacks on a personal level, while sometimes institutions and other countries do so.
