In the third T20 encounter, India defeated New Zealand by 73 runs to win the series. The Indian squad now has a perfect record in the series. Despite missing numerous experienced players in the first series, including Rohit Sharma, the team's new T20 captain, and Rahul Dravid, India easily won all three matches against T20 World Cup finalist New Zealand. Despite winning his debut series, coach Dravid has delivered a strong warning to the Indian players, telling them to avoid flying.

On October 31, Team India suffered a stunning t20 World Cup defeat at the hands of New Zealand, which contributed significantly to India's elimination from the group stage. Within 21 days, Team India won a one-sided three-match series against the identical Kiwi team to seize control of the series. Only a few of the Kiwis' World Cup players were not available for the series, while the majority of the Indian stars had been rested. After that, India triumphed thanks to some remarkable young players and the return to the form of several senior players.

Coach pleased with kids' performance: Venkatesh Iyer and Harshal Patel made their international debuts for India in this series, while Ishan Kishan returned to the starting XI. They all competed in matches at their respective levels. Dravid smiled as he spoke about these players. He's stated that "It was encouraging to see that some of the younger guys performed admirably. We gave guys a chance who hadn't played much cricket in the previous several months an opportunity. It's great to know that we have a lot of possibilities."
