After the recent Pulwama attack, India head coach Ravi Shastri broke his silence on the subject of a boycott against Pakistan on the cricket field. At a time when a Special General Meeting (SGM) between BCCI officials and Committee of administrators' (CoA) members is underway, Shastri said that he will go with whatever the Indian board and government decide, even if it means to forego the entire ICC Cricket World Cup in England and Wales.

In a recent Interview, Shastri said that BCCI and the government best know with what's happening and they will take the final call. "It’s entirely left to the BCCI and the government. They know exactly what is happening and they will take a call. We will go by what they decide," Shastri said. When asked whether India would boycott the entire World Cup if the government decides so, Shastri said, “If the government says it’s that sensitive you do not need to play the World Cup, I will go by my government.”

In the wake of the Pulwama terror attack, which killed 40 CRPF personnel, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) revoked two Olympic quotas on request of National Rifle Association of Pakistan (NRAP) after their shooters weren't able to participate in the men's 25m Rapid Fire Pistol event due to visa issues.

It is worth mentioning here, India are set to Pakistan in ICC World Cup 2019 on June 16. Surprisingly, the two arch-rivals weren’t put in the same group for the showpiece event to be hosted by England. Amid political tensions between the two countries, the two neighbours haven’t played bi-lateral cricket since 2012-13 when Pakistan toured India for a three-match ODI series.
