India and China have recently agreed to keep things peaceful along their border in eastern Ladakh. But, even after the latest round of military talks, the long-standing issues haven't seen much progress.
The 21st meeting between Indian and Chinese commanders took place on February 19 at the Chushul-Moldo border point. According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), both sides discussed the need for complete disengagement along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Eastern Ladakh to restore peace in the region.
The MEA stated that the talks were held in a friendly atmosphere where both parties shared their views. They agreed to continue communication through military and diplomatic channels. Additionally, they pledged to maintain peace along the border areas for now.
In essence, while the talks aim for peace, there's still much to be done to resolve the ongoing tensions between India and China along the border in eastern Ladakh.
