BANGALORE: IndiaJets, a subscription-based aviation startup, has announced the beginning of operations in India and the commencement of an aircraft membership programme. The platform, which is based on the timeshare model, is developed specifically for business owners and senior management professionals and gives them access to private aircraft without having to purchase one, according to a statement from IndiaJets.
Prive Avion Alliances Pvt Ltd is the owner and operator of the brand IndiaJets. In October of last year, John Kuruvilla, T G S Gupta, and Rajesh Rajan formed Prive Avion.
The platform claims that users won't need to hire staff, pay hangar rent, or take care of the numerous other responsibilities associated with whole aircraft ownership, including variable costs, because they will only need to purchase the share size appropriate to the annual flight requirement for a fixed amount per month and per hour flown, it said.
The business claimed to operate a 6-seater business jet and to have internal startup capital of USD 5 lakh. Over the following few years, it is planned to add additional 32 aircraft, including medium-to-large jets.
For Indian businessmen, flying presents a number of difficulties. According to John Kuruvilla, co-founder and CEO of IndiaJets, the high cost of aircraft ownership and monthly operations and maintenance are significant entrance obstacles.
In his words, "flying privately is the only solution, and business leaders around the world are now doing so through fractional ownership, which offers the flexibility, convenience, privacy, tax- and time-saving benefits of aircraft ownership, without the attendant capital expense or management responsibilities.
