Kamal Haasan's much-awaited film 'Indian 2' released on July 12 and despite receiving a lukewarm response from audiences, the film has managed to collect a decent amount at the box office. According to early trends, 'Indian 2' collected Rs 3 crore on its fifth day, taking its total collection to Rs 65.15 crore.

The film, directed by Shankar, had a grand opening on its first day, collecting Rs 25.6 crore. However, the collection saw a significant drop on the second day, with the film earning Rs 18.2 crore. The downward trend continued on the third and fourth days, with the film collecting Rs 15.35 crore and Rs 3 crore respectively.

Despite being one of the most anticipated films of 2024, 'Indian 2' has failed to impress audiences, with many citing that the film's storyline and direction are not up to the mark. The film's poor performance at the box office can also be attributed to the strong competition it is facing from Prabhas's blockbuster film 'Kalki', which is still going strong in its third week.

'Kalki' has already crossed the Rs 250 crore mark in the Hindi belt, while 'Indian 2' is struggling to attract audiences in the same region. The film's poor performance in the Hindi belt is a major concern for the makers, as it is a crucial market for any film's success.

It remains to be seen if 'Indian 2' can manage to cross the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office, given its current pace. The film's failure to impress audiences is a surprise, given its grand scale and ensemble cast, including Kamal Haasan, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Vivek, Bobby Simha, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Nedumudi Venu, and Gulshan Grover. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music for the film.

The film's poor performance is a major setback for the makers, who were expecting a blockbuster response from audiences. Despite its grand opening, 'Indian 2' has failed to sustain its momentum at the box office, and it remains to be seen if it can recover from this slump.
