Aizwal: A fire broke out in a forest in Lunglei district of Mizoram due to intense heat and lack of rain. The fire broke out in the forest, 170 km from the capital Aizwal. According to the information, the fire was so scary that it had to be taken with the help of the Air Force to douse it. In fact, on Monday, the Indian Air Force put two of its helicopters Mi-17 on fire after a forest fire broke out on Saturday.

According to officials, fire broke out in some areas other than the forest but now the situation has been brought under control. The official said the fire was caused by heat and spread throughout the forest due to strong wind but the fire was brought under control in time. However, some crops have been destroyed during this period. The fire may re-fire due to drought and heat and forest fires in Longtalai and Serchip districts are also being reported.

According to the CEO, the Indian Air Force selected two Mi-17 helicopters to control the forest fire. After which the fire was extinguished by pouring water into the forest where the fire broke out with the help of a helicopter. The official said that fire is still being reported in some village areas.
