IAF pilots will operate PM Modi's plane, Air India will take care

New Delhi: President Ramnath Kovind and PM Narendra Modi will now travel in a plane like American 'Airforce One' for long distance travel. The aircraft will be adept at dodging any type of missile. Air India One's fleet will include two Boeing 777 aircraft by the year 2020. Which will also be defensively advanced with modern technology.

The aircraft will be operated by Indian Air Force pilots. Whereas, the aircraft will be maintained by Air India Engineering Services Limited (AIESL), a subsidiary of Air India. As of now, the responsibility of flying VVIP flights of the country rests with the pilots of Air India. Which will be replaced after the arrival of the new aircraft. According to the Economic Times report, these aircraft will only be used by PM Narendra Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu.

All three of the country's top people currently fly with Air India's Boeing B747 aircraft. These aircraft are converted into commercial aircraft after the flight. When the highest people of the country need to travel, it is converted into 'Air India One' and these people travel through it.
