Thimphu: It has been reported that the Indian Army's Cheetah helicopter crashed in Bhutan. The helicopter has 2 pilots in this accident. The government news agency ANI from the sources of Indian Army has told that the Indian Army pilot who died in the accident was of the rank of Lieutenant Colonel while the second pilot was of the Army of Bhutan.

It is being told that the incident happened when the helicopter of the Indian Army was reaching Yonfula for landing, but suddenly its balance deteriorated while landing and it met with an accident in the nearby hill Khentongamani. Both Indian and Bhutan Army officers died on the spot. Indian Army spokesman Colonel Aman Anand has told the media that this Indian Army helicopter has fallen victim near Yongphulla, Bhutan at 1 pm.

The helicopter was out of radio and visual contact just after 1 pm. It was going from Khiru in Arunachal Pradesh towards Yongfula. At the same time, the top officials have reached the spot soon after receiving the information of the accident and have started relief work. The wreckage of the helicopter was detected immediately after starting a rescue and search operation from Yongphulla. It is being told that the weather was bad, visibility was low due to dense fog, which caused the helicopter to crash.
