New Delhi: Army hief General MM Narwane himself will be present in Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of the 100th day of the Peace Agreement on the Line of Control (LoC) between India and Pakistan. The Army Chief is arriving on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. He will review the situation in the LoC as well as the operational preparedness of the Indian Army.

On February 25 this year, the DGMO of India and Pakistan, the Director General of Military Operations, signed an agreement on the ceasefire. Under the agreement, the armies of the two countries will maintain peace on the Line of Control (LoC). Even if soldiers do so, local commanders of the armies of the two countries will resolve the matter.

Since the agreement, there has been no firing on the Line of Control (LoC). However, there must have been some sporadic incidents along the international border (international boundary i.e. IB) adjoining Jammu. According to Indian Army sources, even though there has been no ceasefire violation from Pakistan in the last three months, there are reports that the Pakistani army is increasing its deployment in areas adjoining LoC.
