New Delhi: The central government announced the abolition of section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir on August 5. After this announcement by the government, all kinds of restrictions were imposed in the valley which includes restrictions on phone and internet. Due to this, the means of contact in the state was ended. Due to this security decision, many players of Kashmir faced problems. One of them was Ishrat Akhtar of Baramulla. Ishrat was selected for the Asia Oceania Wheelchair Championship, but the wheelchair Basketball Federation of India lost contact with Ishrat due to the withdrawal of Section 370.

His coaches were Luis George and retired Colonel Isenhower to find Ishrat. Ishrat's coach Luis was a former Jordanian Navy officer who has also worked in the intelligence agency. Luis said that he and Eisenhower used to study in a class. After the withdrawal of Section 370 from Kashmir, he called Eisenhower to discuss the situation in Kashmir. He told Eisenhower that one of his players was in Kashmir and could not be contacted due to the shutdown of internet and mobile services.

Ishrat's coach Louis George was not fully aware of his address in Baramulla but gave Eisenhower his player's photo and some information. Eisenhower, with the help of his sources, gave this information to the Jammu and Kashmir Police in Srinagar, after which information about Ishrat reached the Indian Army. After this, the army started searching for Ishrat. The army got success in one day. The Sports Ministry has announced full support to Ishrat.
