J&K: Another terrorist reaches hell, Army killed him in an encounter

Srinagar: An encounter broke out between militants and security forces in the Baramulla district of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday morning. A police official said that after receiving information that at least two militants were hiding at Wanigam Bala in the Kreeri area of Baramulla district, security forces cordoned off the entire area and launched a search operation. In the encounter that lasted several hours, one terrorist was killed. Two security personnel were also injured.

The official said efforts are on to identify the terrorist killed in the encounter and find out which terrorist organisation he was associated with. Earlier, police have informed that during the search operation, the terrorists opened fire on the security forces and after this, the encounter started.   

On Friday, two hybrid Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were arrested by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district and arms and ammunition were recovered from their possession. A police official had said that the duo has been identified as Talib Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Laderwan in Kupwara, and Shamim Ahmad, a resident of Kawadi Laderwan in Kupwara. They were arrested by the police and the military.
