New Delhi: January 14 is celebrated as Ex-Servicemen's Day in the country. Indian Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Narwane, Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadoria and Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh recalled the ex-servicemen on the occasion. Army chief M.M. Narwane said that the entire year will be celebrated as 'Golden Victory Year ' to mark the war victory of 1971.

Army chief Narwane further said, "Last year was very challenging for our country and the armed forces. The armed forces, with great skill, bravely fought the epidemic while living bravely on the northern borders. I am proud that our vendors had the support in completing it." The army chief further said, "some of the vendors had expressed disappointment that the War of 1971 was not being given much importance on completion of 50 years. I would like to say that this whole year will be celebrated as the ' Golden Victory Year ' to mark the war victory of 1971."

Army chief Narwane said that a number of programmes will be organized across the country. The National War Memorial of Delhi will be built with a small monument to the villages receiving the Gallantry Award of the War of 1971 and those who won the place. Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadoria said, "Air Force started as a subsidiary force in 1932 and today we are a powerful aerospace power. On this veterans day, I would like to accept this visit with the honour and pride of our veterans."
