New Delhi: The Indian Army is gearing up to exhibit a variety of weapons and platforms made in India during a special demonstration in Pokhran, Rajasthan on March 12.
This event, named "Tri-Services Demonstration," will feature a range of indigenous weapon systems, according to Indian Army officials. Expected attendees include Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and Army Chief General Manoj Pande.
The showcase will include notable Indian-made weaponry such as the Pinaka Multi-barrel rocket launchers, Arjun tanks, Dhanush howitzers, Tejas fighter aircraft, and different versions of the ALH Dhruv helicopters. These weapons will demonstrate their firepower during the exercise, officials confirmed.
The primary objective of the event is to highlight the capabilities of indigenous weapon systems and platforms developed and manufactured by both public sector and private firms in India. Additionally, the innovation of Indian Army personnel will be showcased.
Key equipment to be featured in the demonstration include the K-9 Vajra Self-propelled howitzers, robotic mules, mobile air defence systems, integrated drone detection and neutralisation systems, Sarvatra bridging systems, minefield ploughs, Akash air defence systems, and AK-203 assault rifles, as stated by Army officials.
Static displays will also feature the Weapon Locating Radar Swathi and the BrahMos missile system.
