New Delhi: India will get the first shipment of the S-400 missile defense system from Russia by the middle of 2021. Currently, work is underway to build this missile defense system for India in Russia. Russian officials have said that it will be delivered to India by 2021. For the long-term security requirements, India signed a $ 5.43 billion agreement with Russia for the purchase of five S-400 systems during the 19th India-Russia Annual Bilateral Conference in New Delhi on October 5, 2018.

While giving information at the Defense Expo 2020 held in Lucknow, Deputy Chief of Military and Technical Cooperation of the Federal Service of Russia said that the Indian authorities would also be given the necessary training to run this system. For this, a team of the Indian Army will soon go to Russia. The head of the Russian company Rostec Sergey Chemezov said that in November last year, India has made an advance payment of Rs 80 crore for the world's best missile defense system.

On the other hand, Alexander Mikhev, general director of Rosoboron Export, had said that the missile defense system would be handed over to India at the scheduled time. The US had also warned India about the purchase of an S-400 missile defense system from Russia. However, India later convinced the US using the diplomatic route.
