Indian business and political leaders will attend India Week in the UK in May

London: The UK will host "India Week" the following month, bringing together more than 100 business leaders from all over India, according to the organisers.

The largest India-related conference in Europe this year has received attendance confirmations from political leaders from seven parties and eight states, they added.

India Week, the annual global flagship event of global advisory firm Economic Policy Group, will take place from May 7 to May 12. It brings together policy and business leaders, as well as change-makers, for high-level discussions on relevant subjects, including the UK-India Free Trade Agreement, according to the event's organisers.

The former governor of the Reserve Bank of India, Dr. Raghuram Rajan, and the speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Rahul Narwekar, are among the confirmed speakers. Rohit Pawar, a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Priyanka Chaturvedi, an MP for Maharashtra, Kartikeya Sharma, the managing director of Pride East Entertainment, Pradyot Manikya, the chairman of Tipra Motha in Tripura, Jayesh Ranjan, the principal secretary of the Industries and Commerce and IT departments in Telangana, Mohammed Ali Ashraf Fatmi, the national spokesperson for J

They'll be travelling especially for the "Ideas for India" conference, which is being put on by Bridge India, a nonprofit think tank.

More than 20 CEOs from India are anticipated to attend the exclusive CEOs' golf weekend, which takes place May 7-8 at Rutland Hall and Spa in Leicestershire. Prof. Jonathan Michie OBE, pro-vice-chancellor of the University of Oxford, and executives from more than 40 higher education institutions in India are among the speakers at the Education Innovation Conference in Oxford, which is being organised in collaboration with the Worldwide Business Research.

A formal dinner and a dinner at the House of Commons will be part of the Ideas for India conference in London on May 11 and 12.

Bilateral relations with the UK, India's rise to geopolitical power, investment opportunities in India, the value of federalism, and a particular emphasis on the North East will all be discussed during Ideas for India.

India's economy is currently growing faster than China's, according to EPG managing director Pratik Dattani, who also noted that India's advancements in technology, renewable energy, infrastructure development, financial inclusion, and geopolitical leadership for the Global South are all commendable.

In advance of the free trade agreement that the two nations are currently negotiating, Dattani stated that he was "delighted that such a wide range of policy and business leaders have chosen to come to India Week in the UK." This "underscores the importance of the UK as a global gateway for India," he added.

Over 500 delegates participated in the two-day event in May 2022, including representatives from the two largest political parties in the UK and seven political parties from India.
