New Delhi: A court of India has issued summons to Alibaba and its founder Jack Ma and ordered to appear in the court. According to papers received by news agency Reuters, a former employee has accused Alibaba of protesting against the fake news and censorship being spread by the company. After which he is removed from the company. The court has issued this summons in the same case.

The case comes weeks after the Indian government banned 59 Chinese apps, including UC News, UC Browser, citing security concerns following the conflict on the Chinese border. After this ban, the Government of India has sought answers to many questions in writing from all those companies whether they censor content or work at the behest of any foreign government etc.

In the court proceedings held on July 20, former UC Web employee Pushpendra Singh Parmar has alleged that the company used to censor reports that were not in support of China. Along with this, its app UC Browser and UC News also used to show false news due to social and political turmoil.
