A joint team of Assam Rifles personnel and Mizoram police  has recovered unaccounted Indian currency worth Rs 16,07,700 a motorcycle and three mobile phones from Diltlang village in Mizoram?s Champhai district.The team also detained two individuals in connection with the incident.

According to the report, a joint team of Assam Rifles personnel and Mizoram police seized the goods during an operation at Diltlang village on Friday.

In another operation against smuggling activities, a joint team of Assam Rifles personnel and custom preventive force of Champhai district seized 390 bags of areca nuts in Sesih village in Mizoram?s Champhai district. The areca nuts seized is worth Rs 85,17,600 in the market.

Earlier, on February 2. Troops of Assam Rifles has recovered unaccounted Indian currency notes amounting to Rs 80 lakh near the Indo- Myanmar border in Mizoram. One person was apprehended by the Assam Rifles team in connection with the case. The operation was carried out by the Serchhip Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of the Headquarters of the Inspector General of Assam Rifles (East).
