'Indian election process benchmark for many countries..,' PM said on National Voters' Day

New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi today interacted with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers from across the country through Namo App. He said that at this time the country is celebrating the nectar festival of independence. We have also started the celebrations on the occasion of Republic Day from 23rd January. Today is National Voters' Day, I congratulate all the voters of the country for this.

PM Modi said that I urge all the citizens to participate in the voting with great enthusiasm and ensure 75 per cent voting. PM Modi praised India's election process here fiercely. He said, 'Election Commission of India was established on 25 January 1950, hence National Voters' Day is celebrated today. From 1950 till today, our Election Commission has proved its worth.'

PM Modi further said that India is one of those countries where the Election Commission can issue notices to the people, transfer officers. Our election commission and election process are like a benchmark for many countries. National Voters' Day is celebrated on 25 January every year since 2011 to commemorate the establishment day of the Election Commission of India on 25 January in the year 1950. The main objective of this festival is to encourage, facilitate, maximize the enrollment of new voters.
