Indian Foreign Minister Calls For Deeper Cooperation In Dealing With Terrorism At BRICS Meet

Washington: India once again raised the issue of cross-border terrorism at the BRICS meeting. India made it clear at the BRICS meeting that if the world is to end the bite of terrorism, some countries have to blame us. India has so far attended two virtual meetings of BRICS countries. In these meetings, India has prominently highlighted the issue of terror and cross-border sponsored terrorism and put in front of everyone.

External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar had arrived to attend the BRICS foreign ministers' meeting. The meeting was convened by Russia, the current president of BRICS countries. The second meeting was held at the BRICS Counter Terrorism Working Group. The meeting was attended by Mahavir Singhvi, Joint Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs. In a statement, the External Affairs Ministry said, at a meeting of brics foreign ministers, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar raised the issue of terrorism and called for enhanced cooperation among BRICS countries. He expressed satisfaction with the strategy of BRICS counter-terrorism.

According to information received by the sources, india raised the issue of cross-border terrorism at the BRICS Counter-Terrorism Strategy meeting and drew the world's attention to pakistan's cooperation to terror outfits.
