Foreign Ministry's big statement, says, 'Article 370 will not be discussed in the United Nations'

New Delhi: PM Modi is going to visit America later this month. Prior to PM Modi's visit to the US, the Ministry of External Affairs held a press conference and shared many important information related to the visit. Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale said that there will be no discussion in the United Nations regarding Article 370. There are many big issues in the world, terrorism is definitely an issue, but we will not have a focus on it.

Foreign Secretary told that, PM Modi will remain in America from late evening of September 21 to afternoon of September 27. They will travel to Houston and New York in Texas. On 22 September, PM Modi will address the Indian community at an event. We are happy that President Trump will also be present there. He informed that, on 24 September, in the afternoon we will organize a program in the United Nations to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The program is titled - Matters of Leadership: The Relevance of Gandhi in Contemporary Times'.

The Foreign Secretary further said that the program of PM Modi's visit to the United States includes multilateral negotiations in the United Nations and bilateral talks with the US. Apart from this, PM will meet with leaders of many countries in the US tour. These include the President of the Republic of Korea, the Prime Minister of Singapore, the Prime Minister of New Zealand, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, the PM of Jamaica as well as the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
